What’s new
What changed in OurCents, newest first. The app is in testing on Google Play before its first release; many of these changes came from testers’ feedback.
6 November 2026
- Over budget: the alert now comes with every expense while a category stays over its budget. Tap “Mute for …” on it to silence it for that category until the month ends; turn it back on in the category’s budget.
- Setting a budget: the keyboard opens right away.
- Settings → Partner sync shows your last sync and “Undo last sync” right there.
- Reminders: only the latest one stays in your notifications, so tapping it always opens a new transaction.
4 November 2026
- When you start OurCents, choose “Just for me” or “With my partner”. Just for you, OurCents hides partner sync; you can turn it on anytime in Settings.
- Tidier Settings: Partner sync, Reminders & alerts and About OurCents have their own screens, and Appearance and Currency are in a General section.
- Clearer texts for accounts and for an empty month.
- Quick sync, on by default: with OurCents open on both phones on the same Wi-Fi, one tap on Sync updates both, no file needed. If the phones can’t reach each other, OurCents sends a file as before.
- Settings → Sharing explains partner sync more clearly.
- Excel report: income and expenses in separate columns, each with its own total.
- Opening OurCents from a reminder and tapping Cancel no longer leaves the app stuck.
3 November 2026
- New categories: Clothing, Kids, Fuel & charging, Pets, Subscriptions and Personal care, and for income Business, Investments, Sales, Refunds and Benefits. If you already made one of them yourself, OurCents keeps yours instead of adding a second one.
- Voice entry: you don’t always have to say the category. Everyday words like “bakery”, “rent” or “haircut” work too, and OurCents remembers the notes you’ve used, so “45 Kaufland” finds the category you saved Kaufland under before.
- Undo up to 5 syncs in a row; OurCents tells you when there’s nothing earlier to undo.
- The buttons at the top of a screen (Done, Cancel, Reorder) are easier to tap, and “Undo last sync” and “Done” on the partner screen are proper buttons.
2 November 2026
- OurCents speaks German, Romanian and Spanish. It follows your phone’s language; on Android 13 and later you can also choose a language just for OurCents (Settings → Apps → OurCents → Language).
- Voice entry works in all four languages, and finds your categories even if you say them without accents.
- The built-in categories, months, weekdays and amounts follow the app’s language. Categories you renamed keep your name.
- Partner sync matches the built-in categories even when one phone is in another language, so there are no duplicates.
- Help and questions and the privacy policy open in the app’s language.
- Clearer hints for reminders and Quick Share, with the names your phone shows.
29 October 2026
- Reminders not coming? Some Android phones hold them back to save battery. When you turn the reminder on, OurCents now asks to set its battery use to “Unrestricted”, and Settings → Reminders shows the same tip on any Android phone that needs it.
28 October 2026
- Reminders at any time you like: pick one of the usual times or tap “Other…” and choose your own.
- Reminders show the OurCents icon.
- On Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo and similar phones, Settings → Reminders shows how to keep reminders coming when the phone’s battery saving stops apps.
- Android: when you turn the reminder on, OurCents asks you to allow it in “Alarms & reminders”, so the reminder comes at the time you chose.
- Opening OurCents shortly after the reminder’s time no longer cancels a reminder that’s running late.
27 October 2026
- New phone or reinstalled OurCents? After the next sync, your and your partner’s earlier transactions keep the right name instead of showing as “Partner”. When a file comes from a different phone than usual, OurCents asks whether it’s your partner’s new phone or someone else – and it asks before marking earlier transactions as yours.
- Undo last sync also undoes syncing with the wrong phone: you’re paired with your partner again.
- Fixed: the keyboard no longer covers your name on the partner sync screen.
- Fixed: a test version could close when you opened a screen right after opening OurCents from a sync file or link.
- OurCents runs on the latest version of its app platform (Expo SDK 58).
- Privacy policy: clearer about how sync on the same Wi-Fi is protected.
25 October 2026
- 40 currencies, including the Indian rupee, Japanese yen, Chinese yuan, Singapore dollar, UAE dirham and Swedish krona – choose yours from a searchable list. Yen, won, rupiah and dong are shown without decimals.
- Search is simpler: one box finds notes, categories and accounts, and you can choose a category, an account and an amount range (“from”, “to” or both) – everything combines.
- Pro: show only recurring transactions in Search, right next to Expenses and Income.
- Settings in a clearer order, with budget alerts in their own section.
- Settings → About → What’s new.
22 October 2026
- Reorder categories: Settings → Manage categories → Reorder, then drag. Alphabetical stays the default, and each phone keeps its own order; Cancel undoes the changes.
- Manage categories: swipe a category left to delete it – OurCents asks first and says where its transactions will go.
- Each tab keeps its own month, and on Statistics you can now tap the month to choose one, like on the other screens.
- Confirmations and messages appear in OurCents’ own look, light and dark; the month and category pickers open smoothly.
- The Sync and add buttons hide while you scroll down a list and come back smoothly when you stop.
- App lock: your amounts are hidden in the app switcher (iPhone, and Android 13 or newer).
- App lock is called “App lock” on every phone and names how your phone unlocks (fingerprint, face or PIN).
- Fixed: a test version crashed at start on some Android 14+ phones.
- OurCents needs no access to your photos or storage.
20 October 2026
- Month picker: tap the month to choose any month or year; “Current month” jumps back.
- Android: save a backup on your phone (e.g. Downloads), not only share it.
- New add buttons: a microphone and a +, side by side and hard to mix up.
- Each voice entry starts fresh – nothing left over from the previous one.
- Backup and restore results are shown clearly, including why a file couldn’t be restored.
19 October 2026
- Settings → About: Help and questions, and Rate OurCents on Google Play.
- Recurring transactions say which day they repeat on.
- Clearer Pro screen and welcome tour.
17–18 October 2026
- Swipe a transaction left to delete it.
- Each transaction shows when it was added and, after a sync, by whom.
- Transactions: tap Income or Expenses to show only those; a summary with totals and reports (Pro).
- Search: filter by who added a transaction.
- Contact support can include diagnostic info if you agree – never amounts, notes or names.
- Fixed: opening a sync file from the Files app on Android, and the navigation buttons on some phones.
14–16 October 2026
- Sync on the same Wi-Fi with one tap (Android, beta); iPhones sync directly when they’re nearby.
- Statistics for income: who earned what and income by category.
- Weekly reminder option.
- Android: a smaller app and many layout improvements.
First version – October 2026
- Expenses and income with categories, notes and dates; Overview, Transactions, Statistics and Budgets with alerts.
- Partner sync without an account or server: send a file and both phones merge.
- Add expenses by voice.
- Search, Excel reports, recurring transactions and accounts (Pro).
- Backup and restore, CSV export, app lock, dark mode and reminders.
